1st place recipient in each division will represent Christian County at the IAAF State Talent Competition in Springfield, Illinois in January 2014.
 

OFFICIAL RULES
1.
All contestants must be Christian County citizens.
2.
Completed application forms must be postmarked no later than midnight,     July 10, 2014.
3.
There will be a dress rehearsal at 2:00 on Wednesday, July 22, 2014 - weather permitting.
4.
 All entrants must perform at the preliminary audition on Saturday May TBA, 2014.  Auditions will be held at the Taylorville Jr. High School Gym beginning at 9:00 A.M.  Finalists will be notified by telephone.  East contestant is required to submit a completed application form which includes a list of their selection, and how it will be accompanied, i.e. piano, amps, musical instruments, etc.  The form must be signed by the contact person or legal guardian who is at least 21 years of age.

Any act that exceeds 4 minute performance time limit will be disqualified.  Timing starts when the act starts entertaining  (including choreographed entrances and exits.)

Any act that exceeds the 3 minute set up time limit will be disqualified.  Timing starts when the first member of the act steps onto the stage.
7.
Instrumental accompaniment is allowed, but must assume the pure character of the accompaniment.  The test shall be whether the performance would stand alone if the accompaniment is removed.
8.
When usings cd’s or cassette taped for accompaniment, they can Not have LIKE talent on them, i.e. vocals, tap dancing, any like instrument and so forth. Tapes must only have the one accompaniment track solely at the beginning of the tape. CD’s and/or Tapes must be “cued” and ready for performance.
9.
The 1st place winner in both divisions if obligated to represent Christian County at the State Competition in January 2015. In the event that the 2014 CC Fair Talent Competition 1st place winner in either division is unable to compete at the state competition in January 2015, the runner up will represent  Christian County.  Any act or member of an act that has ever presented CC at the state level and has received 1st place at the state level is ineligible to complete in the local division of the same age category at the CC Fair.  A contestant for the 2014 Miss Christian County Fair Pageant is not eligible for the 2014 CC Fair Talent Competition due to the fact is would be impossible to represent CC in both the Pageant and Talent Competition at the state level in Jan. 2015.

Junior and Senior Division age-information:
a.    All entries that are not over fourteen years of age as of October 1, 2013, will enter the Junior Division.
b.    All entries between fifteen years of age and twenty-one years of age as of October 1, 2013, will enter the Senior Division. All entries must be twenty-one years of age, or under to be eligible for the State Senior Division.
11.
The age of the oldest member of an ace determines the division it may enter.
12.
A contestant may be involved in ONE ACT ONLY. A group may only compete ONCE. The director reserves the right to modify this rule based upon his judgment should Pre-existing groups have members that are in multiple organizations (i.e., Show Choir and Jazz Band, etc.)
13.
A professional sound system will be the only equipment furnished. Dance mats must be provided by the act needing them. No piano.
14.
A contestant that is considered "PROFESSIONAL" shall not be eligible for this contest. "PROFESSIONAL is defined as anyone who is a talent union member, who has a professional manager, or whose principle and self-supporting income is derived from entertaining.
15.

This is a talent competition. The judging will be determined by the amount of talent and performance quality of the contestant(s). Judging sheets are not open to public review, and the decision of the judges is final.
